INTERVIEW with NURSE PAYNE

Nurse PayneAt KPW "Grudge Night" on November 4th, KPW's own "angel of mercy" Nurse Payne is scheduled to compete in a trans-Tasman  Divas match of sorts against Australian veteran Miss Sara Jay.  With KPW fans looking forward to the bout, Blair "the Flair" managed to catch up with Nurse Payne between her training sessions and ward rounds.

BLAIR "The FLAIR":  The question of the hour is, how are you feeling about your upcoming match?
NURSE PAYNE:  I'm nervous!  (Miss Sara Jay) is the first Australian opponent I've faced.  Come to that, she's the very first overseas opponent I've ever faced! Wrestlers in New Zealand are tough enough.  It's made me think how tough Australian wrestlers could be!

BtF:  Have you been scouting your opponent in readiness for your upcoming encounter?
NP: Yes, I have.  I've watched some video files of her - she's very experienced, I have to say.  She's tough as!  From what I've seen, she's got a mean dropkick.  That'll be something to watch out for!

BtF:  Without giving too much of your game-plan away, how do you propose to counter Miss Sara Jay's offence?
NP:  Well, even though it'll be the first time that I've wrestled her, it'll be the first time she's faced me!  So I'll be as much of a mystery factor to her as she will be to me.  I know she's more experienced than me - that's the main thing on my mind.

BtF: And how have you been factoring that into your preparation for the match?
NP:  I've been training with the Brute, the way I usually do.  Most people think that he's a little on the scary side, but he's a very good wrestler, with a lot to teach.  He just doesn't like to talk about it, that's all.

BtF: So would it be fair to say that you're looking forward to the challenge of the match?
NP:  I'm still a bit nervous, but... whichever way the match it goes, I'll learn a lot from the encounter, and hopefully be a better person for it.

BtF:  You've certainly built up some time in the ring particularly with your matches against Queen Hollie.  How have those encounters prepared you for your upcoming match with your trans-Tasman opponent?
NP: Well, when you're facing someone who's as much of a cheat as Queen Hollie, you've got to be ready for anything, so I hope that level of wariness has made me ready for Miss Sara Jay!
